Stein is a village and a cadastral municipality in the Bad Traunstein municipality in the Zwettl district in Lower Austria .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 34 building areas with 14,200 m² and 10 gardens on 3,478 m² in the cadastral community of Stein , in 1989/1990 there were 34 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 93 and in 2009/2010 there were 59 buildings on 101 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 193 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 368 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 193 hectares and 397 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 175 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 401 hectares. The average soil climate number of Stein is 18.5 (as of 2010).
