The Göhrener Tannen are a district of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state capital Schwerin and the name of the forest area there and an industrial area in the district. 148 inhabitants (as of December 2011) live in the district on an area of 19.09 km².

geography

The district, which is largely overgrown by mixed forest, is located in the south of the state capital and borders the districts of Wüstmark , Krebsförden , Großer Dreesch , Neu Zippendorf and Mueßer Holz as well as the communities of Plate , Lübesse and Holthusen in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district.

The Stern Buchholz residential area with the former Blücher barracks is part of the Göhrener Tannen , to which military training grounds are connected to the south and south-west. The 350-hectare, partially developed industrial area is located on a wasteland in the west of the district.

history

The origin of the name of the district is the former combing property Göhren, which Count Helmold gave to the city of Schwerin as early as 1282 together with Zippendorf and Ostorf (without Ostorfer Hals). The built-up part of Göhren is now located in the district of Krebsfördens, where the street name Hof Göhren still reminds of the estate. Due to poor soil, the rental income was rather low. On the orders of the Duke, the Göhren dairy was reforested in 1766. The remaining property was sold as a hereditary lease in 1822 .

The name Stern Buchholz is based on the former Jagdstern in the Buchholz forest area with the main axis of the road to Ludwigslust . A place Buchholz, which belongs to the municipality of Holthusen, is about 3.7 kilometers to the west. According to maps, an artillery firing range of around three hectares was located in the Stern Buchholz forest as early as 1874 . In 1940 the prisoner-of-war camp Stalag II E was set up east of today's state road 72, and a firing range was set up on the opposite side of the street during World War II. The latter was used by the barracked People's Police after the war , by the National People's Army since 1956 and later by the Soviet Army . Extensions took place in the process. After the fall of the Wall , the Göhrener Tannen training area had to be cleared of ammunition. The 403 tank battalion last stationed in the Blücher barracks was disbanded on March 31, 2007 as part of a structural decision made in November 2004. The barracks site was auctioned on June 14, 2010 for 1.1 million euros to a company from the renewable energies sector.

In 2001 Schwerin lost the application for the settlement of a BMW production site, for which the Göhrener Tannen was intended, among several competitors to Leipzig. In 2005, an Airbus supplier , Flamm Aerotec GmbH, which produces aircraft parts, settled in the industrial park . At the beginning of 2012 it became known that the food company Nestlé was planning to set up a plant in the Göhrener Tannen. Investments of EUR 220 million and the creation of at least 450 jobs are planned. Production of coffee capsules began there at the end of 2013.

Transport links

Stern Buchholz is integrated into the local public transport network via a bus connection . Landesstraße 72 (formerly Bundesstraße 106 ) from Schwerin to Ludwigslust and the Schwerin – Parchim railway line run through the Göhrener Tannen, which has not had a stop in the district since 1993. The south-eastern part of the district is cut through by Autobahn 14 .
