Career

Lewerenz began playing football at the age of five at VSG Stapelfeld , a sports club in the municipality of the same name in the Stormarn district , and was trained in the youth department of Hamburger SV from 2003 to 2007 and from 2008 to 2009 , and from 2007 to 2008 in Dynamo Dresden . In 2009 he moved to the second team of Hamburger SV , whose regular he was in the 2009/10 season and played 28 games in the Regionalliga Nord .

For the 2010/11 season , the league competitor RB Leipzig signed him . From January to June 2011 he was on loan to the Austrian Bundesliga club Kapfenberger SV . For the 2012/13 season he moved from Leipzig to Trier and was active for Eintracht Trier in the Regionalliga Südwest . In the following season he played for the league competitor 1. FSV Mainz 05 II . With the Mainz team he rose to third place in the 2013/14 season after the successful promotion games in the third division , as the second-placed SC Freiburg II had failed to submit the license documents for them. Lewerenz left Mainz and moved to the Bavarian regional league for the Würzburger Kickers in summer 2014 . As champion of the Bavarian regional league, he rose to the 3rd division with the Würzburg team - also after successfully playing promotion games .

At the beginning of the 2015/16 season he was signed by the third division Holstein Kiel , who provided him with a two-year contract. In 2017 he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with the team. In the second division 2017/18 Lewerenz completed 30 second division games for Kiel and made a significant contribution to reaching third place in the table with eight goals this season. In the Bundesliga relegation games against VfL Wolfsburg , he was only used in the 1: 3 first leg defeat, after a 0: 1 home defeat in the second leg they missed the march into the Bundesliga. In the summer of 2018, the previous coach Markus Anfang left the club, under his successor Tim Walter Lewerenz only played a minor role in the following six months and therefore terminated his contract prematurely at the end of the year after only five competitive appearances in the first half of the season.

On January 5, 2019, he joined the second division club 1. FC Magdeburg until the end of the season and played seven games there. For the 2019/20 season he moved on to the Belgian second division club Royal Excelsior Virton , for whom he only played one league game until the end of 2019.
