The Road Traffic Cooperative (SVG) is a consultancy and service provider for the transport and logistics industry. The offer includes training and further education, occupational safety , toll and fuel card accounting and insurance. In addition, SVG offers a reimbursement service for VAT and mineral oil tax that has been paid for logistics companies operating across Europe. In addition, the SVG group operates truck stops and petrol stations .

In Germany , 15 regional road traffic cooperatives (SVGen) have come together under the umbrella of SVG Bundes-Zentralgenossenschaft Straßenverkehr eG (SVG Zentrale eG) based in Frankfurt am Main . Around 8,000 transport and logistics companies in Germany are members of an SVG.

The SVG was founded in 1948 as a registered cooperative . It is a member of the Federal Association of Freight Transport, Logistics and Disposal (BGL) e. V. and coordinates closely with them.

The regional SVGs are organized decentrally under the umbrella of SVG Bundes-Zentralgenossenschaft Straßenverkehr eG (SVG Zentrale eG) with its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. The group includes the following regional cooperatives:

Toll billing

Transport and logistics companies have the option of settling the truck toll using the SVGen. The cooperative has around 13,000 customers in this area.

Fuel cards

The SVG offers various fuel cards, including in cooperation with DKV Euro Service , Esso, Shell and Total.

Occupational safety

The SVGen advise around 65,000 companies on safe work processes to avoid damage to people , trucks and transported goods . The target group of the offer are mainly small and medium-sized enterprises.

Education and training of professional drivers

The SVG group trains professional drivers in the company's own SVG driving schools and offers further training measures. A total of 80,000 professional drivers were trained in 2019. The SVG operates an online seminar database with qualification offers for transport and logistics professions. In addition, driver safety training is carried out.

Insurance

The SVG mediates insurance for transport and logistics companies. The cooperation takes place in this area with the provider KRAVAG .

VAT refund service

The SVG VAT refund service recovers VAT paid on diesel fuel, motorway, tunnel and toll fees, repairs, stand rentals and trade fair expenses in 23 European countries. Among other things, the mineral oil tax.
