history

In 1798, the owner of the Vogtei Groß-Kunzendorf , Karl von Strachwitz , had a manorial court parceled out and a colony named after him on the Chaussee from Freiwaldau to Neisse . At the beginning of the 19th century there were 23 houses in Strachwitzthal with 69 German-speaking residents.

In 1836 the Strachwitzthal colony consisted of 27 houses in which 207 people lived. The main source of income was the daily wage. The parish, school and administrative center was Groß-Kunzendorf. Strachwitzthal remained subordinate to the Groß-Kunzendorf estate until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial Strachwitzthal formed from 1849 a district of the community Groß-Kunzendorf in the judicial district Freiwaldau . At this time the mining and processing of granite and marble began near Strachwitzthal . From 1869 the village belonged to the Freiwaldau district. At the end of the 19th century, the Czech place name Strachovičky was created . In 1900 Strachwitzthal had 171 inhabitants. In the 1921 census, there were 168 people in the 29 houses in Strachwitzthal , including 165 Germans and one Czech. In 1930 Strachwitzthal had 183 inhabitants, including 178 Germans and two Czechs; the place consisted of 32 houses. After the Munich Agreement , the village was assigned to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Freiwaldau district until 1945 . After the end of World War II, Strachovičky came back to Czechoslovakia; most of the German-speaking residents were expelled in 1945/46 . The stone processing was stopped during this time. During the territorial reform of 1960, the Okres Jeseník was abolished and Strachovičky was incorporated into the Okres Šumperk . In 1976 it was incorporated into Supíkovice , at the same time Strachovičky lost the status of a district. In 1990 the municipality of Velké Kunětice was re-established. Strachovičky has been part of the Okres Jeseník since 1996. At the 2001 census, there were 47 people living in the 19 houses in Strachovičky.
