history
The history of the workshops goes back to the 16th century. They were moved to Liège in 1835, founded in 1850 and called Ateliers de construction de La Meuse from 1872 under the direction of Charles Marcellis .
The company built a total of 5350 steam locomotives from 1888 to 1949, most of which were used on factory trains. It also supplied the Belgian state railways , including steam locomotives of types 8, 9, 10, 23 and 36.
Today it focuses on boiler construction, mechanics and the assembly of large assemblies, whose main markets are nuclear technology, medical technology, heavy engineering and space travel.
