The SGC Firenze-Pisa-Livorno , better known as FI-PI-LI, is an important expressway in Tuscany that connects the Tuscan cities of Florence , Pisa and Livorno . It was opened in the early 1990s.

The expressway has four lanes throughout, two for each direction of travel. It represents an important alternative to the A11 Florence - Pisa , which runs parallel to it around 20 km north. It is toll-free throughout and runs through the lower Valdarno , parallel to the Florence-Pisa railway line.

There is a speed limit of 90 km / h on the entire route, on some sections the maximum speed is limited to 70 km / h.

Shortly before the Lavoria junction , the FI-PI-LI splits, one arm leads to Livorno, the other to Pisa. The section from Florence to Livorno is 81 km long, the Pisa-Lavoria section 16 km.

The FI-PI-LI has a direct connection to the A1 Milan - Rome - Naples , the arm Livorno-Lavoria to the A12 Genoa - Rosignano Marittimo near Collesalvetti and the arm Pisa-Lavoria also to the A12 at the Pisa -Centro exit .
