Straight Outta Ca $ hville ( English for " straight from Cashville ") is the debut album by the American rapper Young Buck . It was released on August 24, 2004 on the G-Unit Records and Interscope labels as a standard and special edition.
content
The title of the album is based on the legendary Straight Outta Compton by NWA and also serves as a reference to Johnny Cash , who had his greatest successes in Young Buck's hometown of Nashville , Tennessee . As usual with the G-Unit, the lyrics are mainly about the usual gangsta rap topics like marijuana , drug trafficking, the hip-hop game, the use of firearms and money. Young Buck adds "Southern Gangsta" content due to his Nashville origins and rarely glorifies gangsta life. Among other things, there is a version of the Nancy Sinatra classic Bang Bang on the album.
production
Young Bucks label bosses 50 Cent and Sha Money XL acted as executive producers on the album . DJ Paul and Juicy J jointly produced two songs on the album. The Dre & Vidal duo also contributed two instrumentals as did the music producer Needlz. Further productions come from Lil Jon , Mr. Porter , Red Spyda, Crown, Diverse, Midi Mafia, Doug Wilson, Chad Beat, Felony and Black Jeruz.
Young Buck stated in interviews that he purposely listened to music by Dr. Dre and Eminem waived. He wanted to have a "G-Unit South feel" and Dre and Eminem productions wouldn't suit a newcomer like him.
Cover design
The album cover of the standard edition shows Young Buck pointing at and looking at the viewer with an outstretched arm. At the bottom of the picture are the words Young Buck and Straight Outta Ca $ hville in black or white. In the background is a building on which the white lettering The Hood can be seen. The cover of the special edition shows Young Buck wearing a dark green balaclava and gritting his teeth. The background is black and the top left is his logo, the letters Y and B in gray.
