The Strechen is a small town in the Rottenmanner Tauern . The scattered settlement is part of the cadastral community of Rottenmann and the Rottenmann community of the same name .

By fins is the Strechen from Strechenbach , a left tributary of the Palten . Strechen is home to the Flick family's hunting lodges, the St. Viktorkapelle and the former Holl inn. The Flick family's hunting grounds are one of the largest in the region. The Strechen is not to be confused with the Strechau settlement in the Paltental , which also belongs to Rottenmann .
