Büschendorf is a locality and cadastral community of the city of Rottenmann . The village is located in the Paltental and on the southeast slope of the Eisenerzer Alps . The village is about 4 kilometers east of Rottenmann's old town . On January 1, 2020, 234 people lived in Büschendorf.

The earliest written document is from around 1150 and reads "Piscofesdorf". The name goes back to old high German biscof (bishop). In the Middle Ages, the village was owned by the Bamberg bishop.
