Handball student world championship
The handball student world championship has been held for men since 1963 and for women since 1994. It has taken place every two years (in even years) since 1990. The host is the international university sports association Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire (FISU) .
This student world championship is the oldest in a single sport, which takes place independently of the world sport games of the students ( Universiade ).
Since 2004, men's and women's competitions have been held at the same place at the same time.
