Suburban Collection Motor City Open 2018

The 2018 Suburban Collection Motor City Open took place February 1-4, 2018 at the Birmingham Athletic Club in Bloomfield Hills , Michigan , United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2017/18 and belonged to the PSA 70 category .

Last year's winner was Ryan Cuskelly , who was eliminated in the quarterfinals against eventual finalist Paul Coll . The title was secured by the top seeded Marwan Elshorbagy , who beat Coll with 11: 9, 9:11, 11: 8, 8:11 and 11: 9.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. A wildcard was not awarded.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 70,000.
