Motor City Open 2013

The 2013 Motor City Open took place January 24-29, 2013 at the Birmingham Athletic Club in Bloomfield Hills , Michigan , United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2012/13 and belonged to the International 70 category .

The defending champion was Ong Beng Hee , who was eliminated in the quarterfinals against the top seed Mohamed Elshorbagy . In the purely Egyptian final, Amr Shabana benefited from the injury-related surrender of his opponent Karim Darwish in the second set. Shabana won the first with 11: 4. It was the first title for Amr Shabana at the Motor City Open.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 70,000.
