Motor City Open 2016

The 2016 Motor City Open took place January 20-25, 2016 at the Birmingham Athletic Club in Bloomfield Hills , Michigan , United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2015/16 and belonged to the PSA 70 category .

Last year's winner Miguel Ángel Rodríguez canceled his participation due to an injury. In the final Ali Farag and Nick Matthew faced each other, which Farag won 11: 7, 5:11, 11: 6 and 11: 7.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. A wildcard was not awarded.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 70,000.
