Motor City Open 2012

The 2012 Motor City Open took place January 27-30, 2012 in Detroit , Michigan , United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2011/12 and belonged to the International 50 category .

The defending champion was Mohamed Elshorbagy , who reached the semi-finals that year. Ong Beng Hee defeated Hisham Ashour 11: 8, 11: 9 and 11: 7 in the final .

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were reserved for qualifiers. The four best players were seeded. A wildcard was not awarded.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 50,000.
