Swędrówka ( German  Zander village ) is a small community in the Polish Warmia and Mazury and belongs to the Gmina (Town) Bisztynek (Bischofstein) in bartoszyce county (district Bartoszyce (Bartenstein) ).

Geographical location and transport links

Swędrówka is located 25 kilometers northwest of Kętrzyn (Rastenburg) and 29 kilometers southeast of today's district metropolis Bartoszyce (Bartenstein) on a side road that runs from Voivodeship road 592 not far from Łankiejmy (Langheim) to Grzęda (Sturmhübel) and on to Reszel (Rößel) . The next train station is Łankiejmy on the PKP railway line No. 353, which runs from Posen (now Polish: Poznań) via Olsztyn (Allenstein) to Korsze (Korschen) and ended in Schelesnodoroschny (Gerdauen) in Russia until 2000 .

history

The rural community once called Zandersdorf , together with six other rural communities and an estate district, formed the newly established district of Langheim (now in Polish: Łankiejmy), which until 1945 belonged to the district of Rastenburg in the Königsberg administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1910 there were 163 residents registered in Zandersdorf, in 1933 there were 156 and in 1939 158.

As a result of the Second World War , Zandersdorf came to Poland with southern East Prussia and was renamed "Swędrówka". Today the place is incorporated into the Gmina Bisztynek within the powiat Bartoszycki of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship (1975 to 1998 Olsztyn Voivodeship ). About 20 people live here today.

Today Swędrówka is incorporated into the parish of St. John the Baptist in Łankiejmy (Langheim ), which belongs to the Deanery Reszel (Rößel) in the Archdiocese of Warmia of the Catholic Church in Poland .
