Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts is an international hotel chain in the luxury segment of the 5-star category, which operates hotels on all continents. In August 2017, the group comprised 31 hotels in 17 countries. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts has been part of the AccorHotels group since 2016.

history

The company was founded in 1980 by Swissair in collaboration with Nestlé . At the beginning, the company acquired the Hotel Le President in Geneva and signed long-term management contracts. These included the Hotel Drake in New York, the Hotel Bellevue Palace in Bern and the Hotel International in Zurich. In 1990 Néstle sold its shares and the hotel group became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Swissair Group. In 2001 Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts was sold to Raffles Holdings Limited in Singapore. This happened shortly before the Swissair Group's bankruptcy. In 2005, Los Angeles-based Colony Capital LLC bought Raffles International. Colony Capital LLC is a global private investment group specializing in real estate asset and corporate management. In May 2006, Kingdom Hotels International and Colony Capital founded the joint venture "Fairmont Raffles Holding International" (FRHI), to which Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts also belongs. The hotel group has regional offices in Canada, USA, Singapore and Switzerland. The head office is in Kloten . The hotel group now comprises more than 100 hotels in over 25 countries, which are operated under the three brands Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts. On July 12, 2016, the takeover of FRHI by Accor was announced.

Customer loyalty program

The hotel chain operates its own customer loyalty program, Swissôtel Circle. This is divided into the categories Inizia, Elevà and Zenit.
