The former synagogue in Edelfingen , a district of Bad Mergentheim in the Main-Tauber district , was opened in the 16./17. It was built in the 19th century and existed until 1938/41.

history

The synagogue was located in the former "Judengasse" (today Alte Frankenstraße ). It was in 16./17. Century built. The facility consisted of a synagogue, a Jewish school and a ritual bath . The Jewish School was an Israelite elementary school that existed from the 1830s until after the First World War . This school had a teacher's apartment in the front building. A teacher worked in the congregation who did religious duties, prayer, and slaughter . The dead were buried in the Jewish cemetery in Unterbalbach . The community had been part of the Bad Mergentheim rabbinical district since 1832 .
