Synagogue in Archshofen (1932)

The synagogue in Archshofen , a district of Creglingen in the Main-Tauber district in the north of Baden-Württemberg , was built in 1796/97.

history

In 1865 the building was rebuilt, expanded and renovated. The cost of the construction work amounted to 4,100 guilders, of which the municipality of Archshofen contributed a part as construction timber from the municipal forest. Until the mid-1920s, church services were still held despite the smaller congregation .

The synagogue building was devastated during the pogrom night in 1938 . The building served the community of Archshofen as a storage room from 1941, later as a fire department store and as a common room for the clubs. The synagogue building has been a clubhouse for small animal breeders for several years.
