TRIAD was a German creative agency based in Berlin and an office in Shanghai . TRIAD is known especially for the development of two major sports museums: the German Football Museum in Dortmund and the FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich .

history

Expo 2010 Shanghai, Urban Planet Pavilion

The Berlin agency was founded in 1994 by Lutz Engelke on the occasion of the exhibition The Dream of Seeing in the Oberhausen Gasometer . Since the design of the Urban Planet theme pavilion at Expo 2010 , the company has had an additional office in Shanghai on a permanent basis. The agency filed for bankruptcy at the beginning of 2020 . Since then, a TRIAD network has been operating with several companies.

Exhibition design

TRIAD designs communication in space and sees itself as a think & do tank . All projects aim to turn complex ideas into tangible experiences. Although the content varies, the method with which exhibitions are conceived is always the same: creating stories that can be experienced, or storytelling . An integral part of this process is developing a narrative that structures the messages and guides visitors through the exhibition. TRIAD exhibitions rely heavily on digital, interactive exhibits and combine education and entertainment in one multimedia space. The result is what is known as edutainment , which conveys knowledge in an entertaining way.

TRIAD has implemented edutainment concepts in various projects with a focus on education for children and young people, for example in the exhibition Working Worlds of the Future , with which MS Wissenschaft toured 34 German and Austrian cities from May 15 to October 9, 2018. The exhibition in the Brandenburg Gate Museum followed the same approach .

Another focus of the design at TRIAD is barrier-free access to the exhibitions. One example of this is the barrier-free adventure exhibition Wilderness Dreams in the Eifel National Park , which opened in 2016 and is part of the UN Decade of Biodiversity .
