The Swiss television series Day and Night was broadcast on Swiss television and was broadcast in 36 episodes from September 2008 to May 2009 on SF 1 . It was the follow-up series to the successful TV soap Lüthi and Blanc . The series was repeated on January 9, 2010 on HD suisse .

The doctor series was produced between April 2008 and October 2008 in Glattfelden and Zurich . C-FILMS AG was responsible as the executive production company . Katja Früh and Niklaus Schlienger were responsible for developing the content and designing the concept . The scripts were written by five regular authors.
The interior shots were taken in the same Glattfelden studio in which Lüthi and Blanc were shot for seven years . The exterior shots were taken at Zurich main station . The studio could be visited by spectators during the non-shooting time.
A total of 36 episodes were produced for the first season of the doctor series. On November 18, 2008, Swiss television announced that it would forego the production of a second season due to the low audience rating . The media cited the following reasons for the modest public interest: wrong broadcasting slot , poor sound quality, too little original format .
The remaining episodes were broadcast on Fridays at 9 p.m. until the end of 2008, and on Sundays at 6:10 p.m. from January until the end of May 2009. The last two episodes were first broadcast on the previous Thursdays at 8 p.m. on HD suisse .
Plot / content
Day and night tells of the everyday life of an emergency station , called Permanence , in Zurich's main train station. The focus is on the employees, whose private life often overshadows their work, and the fate of the people who seek medical and psychological help in the ward.
