Tamako Love Story ( た ま こ ラ ブ ス ト ー リ ー Tamako rabu sutōrī ) is an anime film by the Kyōto Animation studio , directed by Naoko Yamada and released in Japanese cinemas in 2014 . The film is a continuation of the anime series Tamako Market from the previous year.

action

Tamako Love Story is a sequel to the anime series Tamako Market from 2013. Dera has since traveled back to his homeland with Choi and the prince . It has been a long time since then and energetic but unsuspecting Tomako Kitashirakawa is about to graduate from high school . But she only has one concern: delivering an extraordinarily good performance with the baton at the Usagiyama Marching Festival.

But soon Tamako is plagued by other problems. Because while her school friends all have big plans for their personal future, Tamako plays with the idea of working in her parents' mochi shop after finishing school .

Mochizō also has big plans for the future, as he later wants to study at a university in Tokyo , which means that he has to move to the city and leave his friends and family, but also his first great love Tamako, behind. However, he is too shy to confess his feelings to her and Tamako himself has no idea. Time goes by and Mochizō has to overcome Tamako to confess his love before it's too late.

production

In September 2013 it was announced that a new project for the Tamako Market franchise was in progress. In December of the same year it was announced that Naoko Yamada , who was already directing the anime series, would also direct the feature film. The script was written by Reiko Yoshida . The voice actors for the five main characters in the anime series also worked on the film.

As in the previous anime series, the music was written by Tomoko Kataoka . The song in the opening credits is called 恋 の 歌 Koi no Uta and was interpreted by Keiji Fujiwara under his speaking role as Mamedai Kitashirakawa. The credits are a modified version of the same song, this time sung by Aya Suzaki . The official title song is called Principle and was also interpreted by Suzaki.
