Bienzle and the Deep Fall is an episode of the crime series Tatort . The first broadcast of the contribution produced by Süddeutscher Rundfunk under the direction of Peter F. Bringmann took place on July 6, 1997 on First German Television . It is the 365th episode of the film series and the seventh with the Stuttgart inspector Ernst Bienzle.

action

Commissioner Bienzle gets caught up in a murder case in the middle of a private outing. Edwin Schimmel, the owner of a company in Deißlingen, was with his staff on a company outing to the Swabian Alb and fell down a slope. Although the Commissioner is actually off duty, he is determined to take on this case. In order to be able to determine better, Bienzle travels to the place of residence of the victim and rents an inn. He quickly learns that the victim's marriage is no longer the best and that Constanze Schimmel obviously has a relationship with Christian Steinhoff, whom she had met through business relationships with her husband. There is unrest in the company itself, as Steinhoff is appointed commercial manager due to the new situation and Georg Zimmermann, who had hoped for this post, is left empty-handed. Schimmel planned to relocate production abroad, which would cost a large part of the workforce their jobs. For Bienzle, a lot points to Georg Zimmermann, who, however, according to statements by his work colleagues, was not near the slope at the time of Schimmel's crash.

When the Schimmelwerke workforce learns that the relocation of production abroad is still being pushed, they hold Christian Steinhoff responsible and want to hold him accountable. Bienzle finds out about this and can just barely prevent another murder. He has the foreman Hajo Baldauf and Georg Zimmermann arrested for the jointly planned and executed murders.

background

In this episode of the crime scene, Inspector Bienzle also experienced a "deep fall" because after an argument with his girlfriend Hannelore, she cheated on him with the coroner Dr. Bernhard Kocher and moves out of Bienzel's apartment. In return, the cell phone finds its way into the life of the inspector.
