Tatsuya Shinhama (born July 11, 1996 ) is a Japanese speed skater .

Career

Shinhama became the Japanese 1000 m junior champion in January 2015 and the Japanese 500 m champion in Nagano in October 2018 . At the World University Speed ​​Skating Championships 2018 in Minsk , he won gold in the 500 m and 1000 m respectively. At the beginning of the 2018/19 season he started in Obihiro for the first time in the Speed ​​Skating World Cup and finished third in the 500 m. At the following World Cup in Tomakomai he won the 500 m twice and came second in the 500 m in Tomaszów Mazowiecki . At the individual distance world championships in 2019 in Inzell , he ran over 500 m and over 1000 m in 16th place. At the end of February 2019 he won the silver medal at the Sprint World Championship in Heerenveen .
