Baptismal font (La Neuville-en-Hez)
The baptismal font in the Catholic parish church of Notre-Dame de la Nativité in La Neuville-en-Hez , a French parish in the Oise department in the Hauts-de-France region , was created in the first quarter of the 16th century. In 1925, the Renaissance- style baptismal font was added to the List of Protected Objects ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .
The 91 cm high baptismal font made of limestone stands on an octagonal base. The also octagonal basin is provided with a bulge on the upper edge and gadronized on the outer surfaces . Under the edge there were coats of arms, which were probably removed during the revolution .
The ensemble consists of the baptismal font, a piscina made of limestone and a holy water container made of tin (see photo of the base Palissy).
