Thann is a church village and part of the city of Berching .

Ecclesiastically, the place belongs as a branch to the parish Waltersberg in the deanery Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate .

On July 1, 1972, Thann was incorporated into Berching with Biermühle , Dietersberg , Fallhaus (connected to Thannbrunn), Neuhaus and Thannbrunn .

The St. Michael branch church is a hall building with a polygonal apse , a choir flank tower and a pilaster portal. It dates from the first half of the 18th century and was expanded between 1908 and 1909. Archaeological findings from the Middle Ages and early modern times can also be found near the church.
