history

First mention

In 1106 Chuno de Puocha was mentioned in a deed of donation from the St. Emmeram monastery in Regensburg . In this document, which also includes the first mention of the place, Emperor Heinrich V, through his ministerial Gozpert, presented the Holnstein property to the Regensburg monastery.

Archaeological finds

The finds unearthed in the area of the village range from the Bronze Age (1800–800 BC) through the Older Iron Age (800–500 BC) to the Young Iron Age (500 BC – 0) and attest to the prehistoric settlement of the area. They are kept in the Prehistoric State Collection in Munich . In the Leberl there are 43 impressive burial mounds that later fell victim to robbery excavations.

Hofmark Staufersbuch

The historically most striking thing about Staufersbuch is the Hofmark . Traces of the castle of the nobles of Staufersbuch, the later castle, the estate and the Hofmark are located opposite the church. Strong walls and the layout of the courtyard point to an early historical building. There used to be a brick entrance with an arch and a kind of courtyard walling (today the Johann Koller estate).

Originally the lords of the castle at Staufersbuch were servants of the Holnstein knights. From 1106 to 1372 the nobles of Staufersbuch ruled over the castle and the place. After that, other lords of the castle and Hofmark owners appeared, such as the Roßthaler and Pollant lords in the 16th century, the Wildensteiners and the lords of Klingenberg . In 1637, Elector Maximilian donated the Hofmark Staufersbuch to the St. Georgen Brotherhood in Munich.

St. Martin's Church

The first historical news about the church in Staufersbuch can be found in the official description of the Holnstein office from 1326. There, a church “zu Pouch” is reported for the first time. The church in Staufersbuch is dedicated to the patron saint St. Martin; the parish fair is celebrated every year on November 11th. In 1395 Chunrad was mentioned as the first own pastor of Staufersbuch. The most famous pastor was the pastor Max August Freiherr von Ecker, Dr. of theology. He worked in Staufersbuch from 1785 to 1791 and then became parish priest of Neumarkt .

Incorporation

On July 1, 1972, Staufersbuch was incorporated into the city of Berching.
