The hamlet of Thannbrunn

Thannbrunn is a district of the city of Berching . The hamlet is connected to the Fallhaus district.

history

The local aristocrat Berthold von Tumbrunnen (= Thannbrunn ) donated his family property and accessories to the Benedictine Abbey of Auhausen between 1157 and 1171 . In the Martin's chapel, mentioned in the minutes of the Eichstätter visitor Johannes Vogt from 1480, the original castle chapel of this headquarters can be seen. The bailiwick rights over the cloister courtyard lay with the Lords of Heideck . With the sale of the Heideck castles Holnstein and Wissing to Duke Ludwig of Bavaria in 1291, the protective bailiff also came to Bavaria via the Auhauser Propstei zu Thannbrunn. The monastery itself was able to add two more farms to its Thannbrunn property until 1491; the place name appears in Kosterurkunden 1397 as "Teinprun", 1442 as "Tonprün", 1455 as "Tanprun", 1456 as "Tanprunnen", 1468 as "Thonprun". In 1507, the monastery separated from its Thannbrunn property by making an exchange with Apel von Seckendorff , district judge of the Nuremberg district court. Only a few years later, in 1522, Seckendorffer sold his Thannbrunn Palace and its accessories, including the parish loan, to Count Palatine Elector Ludwig V and Friedrich II.

Ecclesiastically, the place belongs to the parish of Waldkirchen in the Neumarkt deanery in the Upper Palatinate of the Eichstätt diocese.

On July 1, 1972 Thann was incorporated into Berching with Biermühle , Dietersberg , Fallhaus, Neuhaus and Thannbrunn.

A former castle, which is now used as the residence of a farm, dates from the 18th century; it has a hipped roof . In the vicinity of the castle there are archaeological monuments from the Middle Ages and the early modern period.

Today's St. Martins Chapel was built in 2002 by the village community.
