Breitenfurt is a district of the city ​​of Berching . It is a small industrial area between Sulz and Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal at the level of Wegscheid and is officially designated as a wasteland .

Ecclesiastically it belongs to the parish of Waldkirchen in the deanery Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate .

On July 1, 1972, Ernersdorf was incorporated into Berching with Breitenfurt, Rappersdorf and Wegscheid.

The section of the Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal is listed as a historical monument .
