The Interrupters is an American ska punk band from Los Angeles, California.

history

The band consists of the brothers trio Bivona and singer Aimee Allen. The four met on a tour of the bands The Dirty Heads and Sugar Ray , where both Aimee Allen as singer-songwriter and the band Telecasters, in which all three brothers played, appeared as opening act. Allen and Kevin Bivona formed the band and wrote the first songs together. Bivona then brought his two brothers, twins Jesse and Justin, into the group as drummers and bassists.

Already at the beginning of their careers they were allowed to act as supporting act for groups like Rancid , The Transplants , Devil's Brigade and Left Alone . The group also played at the Riot Fest festivals in Chicago and Denver and the Amnesia Rockfest in Canada.

They also participated in Tim Armstrong's project Tim Timebomb and Friends and were part of his touring band. Her first singles Liberty and Family came about as part of the Timebomb project and were released via Pirate Press Records.

On August 5, 2014, their debut album The Interrupters was released via Hellcat Records . Her single Take Back the Power was used in commercials for T-Mobile US , the television series Shameless and Major League Baseballs Home Run Derby 2016 and was part of the soundtrack to Michael Moore's film Where to Invade Next (2015).

The band then toured the United States together with The Mighty Mighty Bosstones , Street Dogs , Less Than Jake , Big D and the Kids Table , Reel Big Fish and The English Beat and completed a European tour in support of Bad Religion . The band also played at the Soundwave Festival in Australia and Groezrock in Belgium.

In 2016 the album Say It Loud was released , which, like its predecessor, was produced by Tim Armstrong. It reached number 7 on the Billboard Heatseeker chart. The band then played on the 2016 Vans Warped Tour and headlined the United States for the first time. Bad Cop / Bad Cop took care of the support .

Her third album, Fight the Good Fight , was released on May 2, 2018 and reached number 27 in the German charts. In 2020, the band covered the song Bad Guy by Billie Eilish as part of the soundtrack for The Umbrella Academy series .
