Theodor Mathieu

Theodor Mathieu (born March 14, 1919 in Hohenkammer ; † September 8, 1995 in Bamberg ) was a German lawyer and politician ( CSU ).

Life

After leaving school in Augsburg on grammar school at St. Stephen and in Bamberg at the New School , and graduating from high school in 1937 at St. Benno-Gymnasium in Dresden Mathieu took a degree in law at the University of Erlangen in which he awarded the degree of Dr. jur. finished. During his studies in 1947 he became a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Gothia Erlangen in her CV and later also a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Fredericia Bamberg in the CV . From 1952 to 1958 he worked as a judge at the Bamberg Regional Court and from 1952 to 1954 he held a position at the Federal Ministry of Justice . 1957/58 he worked as a lecturer at the Bavarian Legal School.

Mathieu joined the CSU after 1945 and served as Lord Mayor of Bamberg from May 1, 1958 to April 30, 1982 . During his tenure, the town twinning was established with Rodez (1970), Villach (1973) and Bedford (1977). From 1976 to 1981 he was also a member of the Bavarian Senate .
