Paul Röhner
Paulus "Paul" Franziskus Röhner (born August 7, 1927 in Aidhausen ; † December 24, 2014 in Bamberg ) was a German politician (CSU).
Life
Röhner was born as the second son of a farmer and shoemaker. After attending the grammar school in Schweinfurt, later the St. Ludwig grammar school of the Benedictines of Münster-Schwarzach, he initially did Reich labor service . He then took part in the Second World War as a mountaineer in Hungary and Yugoslavia and was finally taken prisoner, from which he was released after the end of the war. After graduating from high school, Röhner began studying theology at the Phil.-Theological University in Bamberg , but shortly afterwards switched to economics and law in Würzburg and Munich . He financed his studies as a construction worker and as a miner in the Oberhausen colliery. From 1953 to 1958 he was regional manager of the Bavarian Young Farmers 'Union and from 1959 to 1982 he was director of the Bavarian Farmers' Association for the Upper Franconian district . From 1970 to 1990 he was the chairman of the Kolping educational institute , of which he was subsequently appointed honorary chairman.
Röhner was widowed and had three children. Since 1947 he was a member of the Catholic student associations K. D. St. V. Fredericia Bamberg and since 1948 also the KDStV Gothia Würzburg (both in the CV ). In 1968 he was appointed Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Eugène Cardinal Tisserant and on July 8, 1968 in Munich by Lorenz Cardinal Jaeger , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy, and Hermann Josef Abs , Lieutenant in Germany, into the Order invested.
politics
Röhner joined the Christian Social Union in Bavaria in 1965 . He was later elected chairman of the CSU district association in Upper Franconia and was a member of the CSU state executive committee and the CSU executive committee from 1975 to 1989. Röhner was a member of the district assembly of the Upper Franconia district from 1982 to 1994 . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 until his resignation on May 11, 1982. In parliament he represented the constituency of Bamberg . From 1969 to April 1975 he was deputy chairman of the audit committee, from 1975 to 1982 then parliamentary manager of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group .
Röhner served as Lord Mayor of Bamberg from 1982 to 1994 .
