This Light I Hold is the fifth studio album by American metalcore / post-hardcore band Memphis May Fire from Dallas , Texas . It was released worldwide on October 28, 2016 via Rise Records .
History of origin
It was announced on January 27, 2016 that the group would be working on new material. A few weeks later, on February 9th, it was officially announced that the group would begin work on the successor to Unconditional . For this purpose, the group worked with producers Matt Good in Phoenix , Arizona and Cameron Mizell .
In early August, rumors surfaced that the group would be working on a song with Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach . These rumors finally turned out to be truth on September 29, 2016 with the release of the song titled after the album. Levi Benton from Miss May I also has a guest appearance in the music video .
On August 29, 2016, the album was officially announced for October 28, 2016, the pre-order phase was initiated and the first single was released with Carry On . In addition to Jacoby Shaddix, former My American Heart singer Larry Soliman also has a guest appearance in the play Not Over Yet .

On August 29, 2016, the main single of the album was released with Carry On . Exactly one month later the second single was released in which Jacoby Shaddix took over a vocal part from Papa Roach , including a music video, where Levi Benton from Miss May I can also be seen.
Tours
On August 2, 2016 was for the period between 11 October and 4 November, a tour of the United States , in Memphis May Fire with Silverstein and Like Moths to Flames in the opening act for The Devil Wears Prada playing announced. Already in July, the announcement of a tour through several European countries , which will be held with the same cast, for November and December.
