Thomas Kylau

Thomas Kylau (born September 10, 1932 in Memel ; † April 13, 2020 in Munich ) was a German actor and radio play speaker .

Life

Thomas Kylau lived in Heydekrug until 1945 and attended the same school as the writer Hermann Sudermann had long before . Kylau received his acting training at the seminar of the Hamburger Kammerspiele ; he was taught there by Ida Ehre , Horst Frank and Richard Münch . Stations of his stage career included the Alte Schauspielhaus Stuttgart , the Bremen Theater , the Bavarian State Theater and the Munich Volkstheater . In addition, he played in around 400 performances of the Revue Fifty-Fifty in Schmidt's Tivoli in Hamburg and from 2001 he was a guest in various institutions with his cabaret program Schüttelpalme mit Nüssen .

Thomas Kylau made his debut in front of the camera in 1973 in the five-part film adaptation of Hans Fallada's novel Farmers, Bonzen and Bombs . After that he was often seen in episode roles in various series such as Der Alte , Derrick or Vera Wesskamp and in three episodes of the Tatort series . In the home trilogy of Edgar Reitz , he participated in the first and second part.

In addition, Thomas Kylau worked extensively as a radio play speaker, mainly in productions for Radio Bremen ; he has also read in various audio books .

Thomas Kylau was a co-founder of gay cultural centers in Bremen and Munich. He lived in the Bavarian capital.

After a long illness, he died at the age of 87 on Easter Monday 2020 in Munich.
