Tivaouane (department)
The Tivaouane department with the capital Tivaouane is one of 45 departments that make up Senegal and the northern of three departments that make up the Thiès region from north to south. It is located in the central west of Senegal on the Grande-Côte northeast of the metropolitan region of Dakar .
The department has an area of 3121 km² and is divided into arrondissements, communes and rural communes (Communautés rurales) as follows:
