Tobias Stosiek

Tobias Stosiek (born October 13, 1971 in Schwerin ) is a German cellist and professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz .

Life

Stosiek received his first cello lessons at the Görlitz Music School and then attended the Special School for Music and the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden . In 1990 he began his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna , which he obtained in 1998 with unanimous distinction and the title Magister art. completed. He was a scholarship holder of the Alban Berg Foundation and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) .

Stosiek took part in numerous master classes, among others with Karin Georgian , David Geringas , Frans Helmerson , Peter Leisegang , Arto Noras and Mstislaw Rostropowitsch .

He has made guest appearances at festivals in Angoulême , the 27th  Silesian Music Festival in Görlitz and ńagań and has given numerous concerts in Germany , France , Italy , Yugoslavia , Croatia , Poland , Russia , the Czech Republic and Austria (including in the Wiener Konzerthaus and the Musikverein ). Stosiek is a member of the ALEA Ensemble and has been a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz since 2003. He plays with piano accompaniment and as a soloist with orchestra on a cello from the workshop of Nicola Amati .

Radio recordings were made on ORF , Radio Dresden , DeutschlandRadio Berlin and MDR Kultur .

Tobias Stosiek is married to the pianist Nataša Veljković .
