Tomáš Babák (born December 28, 1993 in Jilemnice , Czech Republic ) is a Czech handball player . Babák is mostly used on the back center .

Career

society

The 1.86 m tall and 80 kg heavy right-handed player initially played for HBC Ronal Jičín with the second team in the second Czech division, and since the 2010/11 season in the extra division . There he was named Talent of the Year 2012 and Most Valuable Player of 2013. In the 2012/13 season he led Jičín to the first championship with 178 goals. From the summer of 2013 he was under contract with the Swiss club TSV St. Otmar St. Gallen , where Filip Jícha had his first international position, and is already the best scorer of his team in his first season. With St. Otmar he was eliminated in the first round of the EHF Europa Pokal 2013/14 . Since summer 2016 he has been playing for the German second division Bergischer HC .

National team

Tomáš Babák was in the squad of the Czech junior selection teams at the U-18 European Championship in 2010 and the U-20 European Championship in 2012, where he was the second best scorer of the tournament with 53 goals.

The playmaker took part in the 2014 European Championship with the Czech national team, but was eliminated after the preliminary round. He made his debut on June 12, 2013 against Israel and has so far played 65 international matches , in which he scored 212 goals. (As of January 4, 2020)
