history
The clay was once known to change course during the flood. It is difficult today to determine its previous course. Originally it flowed into Tokyo Bay . Today the Edo flows into Tokyo Bay, a river that branches off from the Tone ( river bifurcation ).
As a result of the Fukushima nuclear disaster , radioactive concentrations of cesium of 110 becquerels per kilogram were found in silver carp that had been fished in the clay in April 2012 . The river is 180 kilometers from the Fukushima. Six fishermen and 10 towns on the river were banned from fishing in the clay.
