Honjō ( Japanese 本 庄 市 , -shi ) is a city in the north of Saitama Prefecture . The Waseda University maintains a campus in the city.

Honjō is south of Takasaki and west of Fukaya .
The River Tone flows through the city from northwest to northeast. Another river is the Kanna .
history
Honjō was a post office ( 宿 場 町 Shukuba-machi ) of the Nakasendō during the Edo period .
