Kamisu ( Japanese 神 栖 市 , -shi ) is a city in Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan .
geography
Kamisu is located south of Kashima and north of Choshi on the Pacific Ocean . The River Tone flows through the city from southwest to southeast.
history
The city was founded on August 1, 2005 .
The natural disaster of the Tōhoku earthquake on March 11, 2011 with the subsequent tsunami claimed a death in Kamisu. 140 residential buildings were completely destroyed and 1,809 others were partially destroyed.
