Bandō ( Japanese 坂 東 市 , -shi ) is a city in Japan in Ibaraki Prefecture .

Bandō is west of Tsukuba and north of Noda .

history

During the First World War, there was a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp near Bandō . The city of Bandō was founded on March 22, 2005 from the former parishes of Iwai and Sashima.
