Touch A New Day is a song by Lena Meyer-Landrut and the second single from the album My Cassette Player , which was released on August 6, 2010, but could not build on the success of the first single. The music and lyrics of the song were written by Stefan Raab , who made Lena Meyer-Landrut known for Oslo through the casting show Our Star . According to Meyer-Landrut, the song was chosen as the second single because it is “a really nice summer song and puts you in a good mood”. The single contains the track We Can't Go On , which is not on the album My Cassette Player .
The song Touch a New Day can be heard in the credits of the 3D animation film Sammy's Adventure - The Search for the Secret Passage , which opened in German cinemas on October 28, 2010.
The song was nominated for an Echo in the Best Video National category.
Music video
The recordings for the music video under the director Marten Persiel took place in Erdmannstrasse in Hohen Neuendorf in the Brandenburg district of Oberhavel and were completed within three days. In the music video, Lena drives from Brandenburg to Usedom with her friend in an old Opel Kadett City , which she previously “borrowed” from her neighbor. Overall, the music video should represent a summer day.

The radio station NDR 2 , which supported the artist at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 , praised the overall artistic impression, as the song is accompanied by “snapping fingers, airy acoustic guitars and very light drums” and thus also acoustically keeps “what the singing of" Lovely Lena "promises ".
