Trzciano ( German  Eichwerder ) is a wasteland in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Nidzica (urban and rural municipality Neidenburg ) in the powiat Nidzicki ( Neidenburg district ).

Geographical location

Trzciano is located on the northwest bank of the Eichsee ( Jezioro Trzciano in Polish ) in the southwestern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 15 kilometers northeast of the district town of Nidzica ( German Neidenburg ).  

history

The small town Eichwerder emerged as a state forest to Kaltenborn (Polish Zimna Woda belonging) forester . On July 20, the "Eichwerder Forest Protection District " was incorporated into the newly formed Kaltenborn, Forst, estate , which from March 6, 1896 belonged to the newly established Kaltenborn district in the East Prussian district of Neidenburg . In 1905 Eichwerder had seven inhabitants.

On September 30, 1929, Eichwerder was reclassified from the Kaltenborn estate, Forst, to the Kaltenborn rural community.

As a result of the war, Eichwerder was transferred to Poland with all of southern East Prussia in 1945 . The small place received the Polish name form "Trzciano" and is today an Osada leśna (= forest settlement) within the urban and rural community Nidzica in the powiat Nidzicki ( Neidenburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then it belongs to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Until 1945 Eichwerder was in the Protestant church Muschaken (Polish Muszaki ) in the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia the Prussian Union of churches and Catholic side in the Roman Catholic church Neidenburg in the diocese of Warmia eingepfarrt.

Today Trzciano belongs on the Catholic side to the parish Muszaki in the Archdiocese of Warmia , on the Protestant side to the parish Nidzica in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

Trzciano is located west of Voivodship Road 545 and can be reached via the Zimna Woda (Kaltenborn) junction on a side road. There is also a secondary road connection from the neighboring village of Wikno (Wickenau) to Trzciano. There is no connection between the town and rail traffic .
