Jastrzębiec ( German  Habichtsberg ) is a small place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the urban and rural community Nidzica ( German  Neidenburg ) in the powiat Nidzicki ( Neidenburg district ).

Geographical location

Jastrzębiec is located in the southwestern center of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , 20 kilometers northeast of the district town of Nidzica, directly on the border with Gmina Jedwabno (1938 to 1945 Gedwangen ) in the Szczycieński powiat ( Ortelsburg district ).

history

In 1888 the Habichtsberg forestry was founded. As a forest protection district , the place came u. a. to the on July 20, 1894 newly formed estate district Kaltenborn , Forst, which was then incorporated on March 6, 1896 into the newly established district of Kaltenborn in the East Prussian district of Neidenburg . When the Kaltenborn forest estate district was included in the new Hartigswalde estate district , part of Neidenburg, Forst, on September 30, 1929 , Habichtsberg came to the rural community of Kaltenborn as a place to live.

With the entire southern East Prussia Kaltenborn was in consequence of the war in 1945 Poland transferred. The small place received the Polish form of the name "Jastrzębiec" ( Polish Jastrząb = German  hawk ). Today's Osada leśna (forest settlement) is now a village within the urban and rural community of Nidzica (Neidenburg) in the powiat Nidzicki ( Neidenburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Until 1945, the Habichtsberg forestry was parish in the Protestant Church of Malga in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union , and also in the Roman Catholic Church in Neidenburg in the Diocese of Warmia .

Today Jastrzębiec belongs to the Evangelical Church in Nidzica in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland . Catholic hand, the place to be Zimna Woda (Kaltenborn) as a branch community of Parish in Napiwoda (Green flow) in Erzbistum Ermland incorporated.
