Litwinki ( German  Littfinken ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Nidzica (urban and rural community Neidenburg ) in the powiat Nidzicki ( Neidenburg district ).

Geographical location

The elongated village of Litwinki is located in the south-west of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship, right on the north-western border of the district town of Nidzica ( German  Neidenburg ). It is four kilometers to the city center.

history

The after 1574 Litfinke called small town was a possession Litt finches 1874 in the District Lahna (Polish Łyna ) in the East Prussian district of Neidenburg incorporated. On June 26, 1888, the Littfinken estate was formed into the Littfinken estate , which in 1910 had 95 inhabitants. Until 1929 Littfinken was an independent manor village before it was incorporated into the municipality of Neidenburg ( Nidzica in Polish ).

With the whole of southern East Prussia , the city of Neidenburg - and with it the town of Liffinken - was transferred to Poland . The small place received the Polish name form "Litwinki", was removed from the urban area and is today - with the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish Sołectwo ) - a place in the network of the urban and rural community Nidzica in the powiat Nidzicki , until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship . In 2011 Litwinki had 189 inhabitants.

Until 1945 Littfinken was incorporated into the Protestant parish church of Neidenburg in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union , and also into the Roman Catholic parish church of Neidenburg in what was then the diocese of Warmia .

Today Litwinki belongs on the Catholic side to the Church of the Conception of Mary and St. Adalbert Nidzica in the current Archdiocese of Warmia , on the Protestant side to the Holy Cross Church Nidzica in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .

Litwinki is located on a side street that leads from the town of Nidzica (Neidneburg ) via Załuski (Salusken , 1938 to 1945 Kniprode) to Rączki (Rontzken , 1938 to 1945 Hornheim) . It runs parallel to the S 7 expressway , which connects Gdansk with Warsaw and Rabka-Zdrój . The nearest train station is Nidzica on the Działdowo – Olsztyn railway line .
