The Tower Hill Seubersdorf is a Outbound high medieval motte (moth) unknown-sized assignment at the center of about Weismain belonging village Seubersdorf in the district of Lichtenfels in Bavaria , Germany . Today the Catholic Chapel of St. Michael is located on the still preserved hill. The hill is protected as a ground monument under the number D-4-5933-0036 . A second tower hill in Seubersdorf ( tower hill Seubersdorf II ) is located on the south-eastern outskirts.
history
The Turmhügelburg was built in the 11th century as part of a chain of small fortifications, together with the Lindenberg Castle , the Zultenberg Tower , the Wölkendorf Tower and the Burglesau Tower . It was destroyed in the 14th century.
During excavations in 1960 and 1961, the foundations of a rectangular building and traces of a round tower that must have been destroyed by fire were discovered.
