Turulung ( German Turterebesch , Hungarian Túrterebes ) is a municipality in the Satu Mare district in Romania . It consists of the three districts Drăgușeni (Hungarian: Túrterebestelep ), Turulung and Turulung-Vii (Hungarian: Túrterebesszőlőhegy ).
Geographical location
The municipality of Turulung is located between 47 ° 56 'on the north latitude and 23 ° 4' on the east longitude, 133 m above sea level, in northwest Romania. It is located on the banks of the Tur River . This is where the Sathmar Plain and the Avas Mountains meet. The area of the municipality consists of 54 km². Drăgușeni is 3 km away and Turulung-Vii is 6 km from the seat of the municipality.
The European route E81 connects the town of Turulung with Satu Mare , which is also the main street of the municipality. The nearest railway station is in Halmeu , about 8 km away , on the Debrecen – Sighetu Marmației railway line .
