The fifth season of the US sitcom Two and a Half Men celebrated its premiere on 24 September 2007 on the transmitter CBS . The German-language first broadcast was broadcast by the Austrian TV station ORF eins from January 17 to February 7, 2009 and then again from April 11 to June 13, 2009. From February 11 to 20, 2009, the first broadcast was by the Swiss TV station SF two sent.

In German-speaking countries, the first season was broadcast under the title "My cooler Onkel Charlie" . From the second season the original American title was used and the German title was added as an addition: Two and a Half Men - Mein cooler Unkel Charlie .

Because of the writers' strike in the US, the fifth season consisted of only 19 episodes.

Charlie ends up getting a call from Linda's ex-husband, who has heard Charlie's songs that he burned onto a CD for Brandon and is now asking him to write children's songs. He offers him a large amount of money in return.

Archie plans a concert that Charlie doesn't like at first, but has no choice. To suppress his stage fright, he gets drunk before the concert, but the concert goes well and Charlie continues to party.

After Teddy wants to go home, he tells Charlie that he warned him and Charlie realizes that Teddy wanted to protect him from Courtney and not the other way around.

Since Gabrielle is just lying there in bed, Alan goes back into the house and finds that Charlie is sleeping with Alan's high school love again and that he has planned everything from the beginning.

Jake accompanies him because the woman has a daughter named Milly and Jake finds her attractive. Alan gets his money back from Alexis, in exchange for which Alan never calls her again.

From her he learns that his behavior comes from his love for Mia, which has not yet been extinguished, and he decides to win her back. However, since Mia is already engaged, Charlie puts everything on one card and proposes to Mia herself, which she refuses, whereupon Charlie moves on, sadly, but with absolute certainty, on his next love adventure.

In the library where Jake, Alan and Charlie drove together, Charlie meets a woman and leaves Jake and Alan behind, who now have to take the bus home. When Charlie learns that the woman is a few years older than him, he realizes that he hardly ever dates older women, but is surprised how much fun he had the evening with Angie. To Charlie's annoyance, Alan also likes Angie, which leads to an argument between the two.

Charlie meets a slightly older lady in the bookstore and feels drawn to her. Alan is also taken with her and promptly they both fall in love with her. Charlie also meets her family and their son Jeremy and his fiancée Trisha, with whom Charlie was dating. Shortly after they meet, Trisha leaves Jeremy because she has fallen in love with Charlie again. After Charlie lets her go, he meets his drunken old friend and sees how devastated she is.

DVD release

In the United States , the fifth season DVD was released on May 12, 2009. The DVD for the fifth season has been available in Germany since June 19, 2009.
