Tyler Weiman (born June 5, 1984 in Saskatoon , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who was last under contract with EV Landshut in the DEL2 .

Career

The 1.80 m tall goalie began his career with the Tri-City Americans in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League before he was selected in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft as 164th in the fifth round of the Colorado Avalanche .

First, the left catcher was used with the Colorado Eagles in the Central Hockey League , with whom he won the 2005 Ray Miron President's Cup , the championship of the minor league . During the 2005-06 season, Weiman commuted between the San Diego Gulls from the ECHL and the Lowell Lock Monsters , an Avalanche farm team in the American Hockey League . Tyler Weiman made his NHL debut on October 4, 2007 against the Nashville Predators as a replacement for goalkeeper Peter Budaj . The rest of the 2007/08 season the Canadian spent with the Lake Erie Monsters in the AHL. In the following two seasons he was also the goalkeeper between the posts for the Monsters and at times formed a goalkeeping duo with Jason Bacashihua .

In July 2010 he signed a contract with the Vancouver Canucks as a free agent . This put him in the 2010/11 season in the farm team at the Manitoba Moose , where he was the second goalkeeper behind Eddie Läck . For the 2011/12 season he was obliged by the Augsburg Panthers from the German Ice Hockey League . On March 28, 2012, Weiman signed with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers for the DEL season 2012/13 . In July 2014 he was signed by EV Landshut from the DEL2 .
