Haselhorst underground station
The Metro Station Haselhorst is a station of the Berlin U-Bahn - U7 . It was opened on October 1, 1984 as part of the extension of the U7 to the Spandau town hall and is located in the district of the same name on Ferdinand-Friedensburg-Platz . In the station directory of the BVG , the station is designated as Hs . It is 1,100 meters to the neighboring Zitadelle train station and 990 meters to Paulsternstraße train station . The platform is 110 meters long. The station is equipped with an elevator and escalators , access is considered barrier-free .
The architect Rainer G. Rümmler designed all underground stations between the Rohrdamm and Spandau underground stations . While other train stations, such as Paulsternstraße and Spandau Town Hall, appear particularly colorful or ostentatious, Haselhorst train station appears more reserved and is more conspicuous with its strict look and geometric lines. Rümmler used an anthracite-colored wall paneling as well as an individual ceiling shape, so that strange and interesting lighting effects result.
In October 2006, the BVG had the ceiling in the entrance area to the Gorgasring removed due to considerable damage from vandalism , and a new, vandal-resistant ceiling was installed by spring 2007.
In January 2016, an elevator was put into operation, together with the installation of a guidance system for the blind and the adjustment of the platform edge height, the station has been barrier-free since then . The costs for this were given as 1.9 million euros. The basic overhaul should be completed by 2016.
In March 2017, it was announced that the underground station - along with six others on the northern U7 - would be listed as a historical monument .
